A Typical Day in the 4’s Classroom
Each day in the 4’s classroom is thoughtfully structured to balance independent exploration, group learning, and creative expression. Spending time outdoors in our Certified Nature Explore Classroom is an integral part of the experience, encouraging physical activity, imaginative play, and a connection with nature. While schedules vary, the day follows a rhythm that nurtures growth and curiosity:
Morning Beginnings | The day starts with a welcoming routine, including arrival activities that spark curiosity and set a positive tone for learning. Circle time introduces the day’s themes, focusing on concepts like the letter of the week, weather, graphing and calendar skills.
Active Play and Exploration | Children engage in recess and hands-on activities that encourage physical development and imaginative play.
Creative Centers and Projects | Rotating centers offer opportunities for art, free play, and group projects inspired by seasonal themes and children’s interests.
Skill-Building Lessons | Small group activities focus on foundational skills such as language, early math, and problem-solving, fostering collaboration and confidence.
Group Time | The day wraps up with engaging group activities, such as music, science experiments, or thematic lessons that reinforce learning and spark curiosity.
Kindergarten Readiness | The curriculum introduces foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving, ensuring children are well-prepared for their next academic step.
